1879 The Footballer writing about the Hotham players says this of J. Walker
WALKER, J - An indegfatigable untiring little follower, and with more weight, would be really unsurpassed.

1883 Walker recruited from Hotham.

Most probably Joseph James Walker, who also played with the Hotham and Brunswick football clubs.
A death notice in The Argus, Jan. 15, says Walker died on January 14 1915, aged 56.
He was an employee of Cornwall's Pottery for 43 years.

Walker played 10 games in 1883.

June 16. Selected in the side to play Clifton Union (23) at Princes Oval.

June 30. Walker in the team that defeated Essendon at the East Melbourne C. G.
July 07. In the drawn game against Hotham at the Hotham Rec. Ground.
July 14. Selected to play in the win against Port Adelaide at the South Melbourne C.G.
July 21. Walker in the losing team to Essendon at the East Melbourne C. G.
July 28. Played in the loss to Melbourne at the East Melbourne C. G.
