Two players named Burns selected in the 24 man Carlton Second Twenty squad to play Fitzroy Second Twenty on Princes Park.

1887 T. Burns was presented with a gold locket for "excellent play" with the Second Twenty at the Carlton general meeting held Friday 1st. April 1887.

Pennings' O.O.A.F. Vol 5 has J. H. Burns playing a total of 11 senior games, 6 in 1894 and 5 in 1896.
No mention of T. Burns, perhaps a Second Twenty player only.
