Game Review

Carlton's season reached crisis point after another big loss - this time at home to Geelong. The Blues were held goal-less in the first term, before 'Turkey Tom' Carroll cut loose, and kicked six of his side's ten goals for the match.

The problem was that Geelong had their own goal-kicking star in rover Billy Goggin, who booted 7 majors in a Best on Ground display, and ruined the Blues hopes of climbing back up the ladder. Carroll's six goals lifted his season total to 30, and saw him retain second on the VFL goal-kicking list to the Cats' Doug Wade.
