Burwood named in squad to play Carlton District at the University ground.

1893 May 6
Edward Burwood debuted for the Blues in round one of the 1893 Premiership season against North Melbourne at Arden Street.
He was named the squad for another 6 matches this year. (see 1893 )

According to tigerlandarchive Ned''s profession was a butcher/carpenter.

Edwin pictured above in 1887 as a Richmond Football Club player.

In his first few years as a footballer, he was absent from several games, as he was also a sometime player in the Geelong area, and also a cricketer. His disappearance from Carlton after July 1893 might have had something to do with his purchase of, and move to a farm at Berrigan in the southern Riverina of New South Wales.
