1867 June 22
Carlton, fielded it's strongest team, met Melbourne June 22.
McCarthy scored one of Carlton's two goals, ( the other by W. 'Bill' Gorman ) which gave Carlton it's first victory against the Melbourne Football Club.

1868 May 25
The Argus has McCarthy named in the Carlton side to play Geelong.

1868 June 6
McCarthy named in squad to play Emerald Hill at Emerald Hill.

1870 April 28
T. McCarthy was elected onto the committee at the Carlton AGM.

1870 June 18
T. McCarthy in team line up for the Challenge Cup match June 18 1870 against Albert Park, at Royal Park.

1898 October 08
The Australasian's cricket writer "Felix" (on page 20) writing about the Carlton Cricket Cub's new ground in Princes Park recalls the old rallying cry "Forward Carlton!" and the old-time players who were associated with it. Among many of the old name players mentioned, one is Tom McCarthy.
