1881 T. Maloney ("Faugh-a-Ballagh" - Irish for "clear the way") - Eager and strong; He has played a vigorous and determined game, sometimes with more valour than discretion, but withal, his efforts have been tempered by thorough manliness.

T. Maloney was presented with an illuminated address for services to the club, at the Carlton General Meeting.
