Thomas McInerney

Victorian Football Association
Career: 1887

There is some confusion over the McInerneys, Mick, Tim, and Thomas.
Carlton visited Adelaide in July 1887 and in one of the reports of the South Australian Register July 23 on the match against Port Adelaide mentions a Thomas McInerney.
"Tom McInerney, who was obstensibly brought over as an emergency man, was not played during the trip."
Further on in the report it says of a previous match;
"Taylor who was playing so well for the Hothams this season, was so badly hurt by Tim McInerney, of the Carltons, that it is not likely that he will play again this season."

So it is not likely that a mistake was in Tom and Tim, as the paper said Tom had not played on this tour.

Games unknown as match reports generally only mention surnames.
