Game Review

Carlton opened with the breeze and kept the Dogs scoreless in the first term whilst scoring 4-6. The game was over as a contest at half-time after the Blues had held the Tricolours to 2-3 with the wind and managed 1-6 into it.

After Carlton had extended the advantage to 59 points at the last change, an extraordinary last quarter saw the Bulldogs add 4-11 only for the Blues to reply with 5-2.

Three easy victories had rekindled a flicker of hope of finals action. At 8-7, wins in all of the last 4 rounds would certainly do it while 1 loss would make the chances problematic.
