Game ReviewThe battle of the two undefeated sides turned out to be a "non-event" as the powerful Blues recorded their third century in a row against the Hawks and they haven't done this since the 1940's. The Hawks missing star rover Leigh Matthews out with a hamstring, recorded a miserable 20 behinds for the third time this season. And were only able to manage their lowest score against the Blues since 1967. Hawthorn have now equalled their 1975 run of five wins and a loss in the opening six matches. - Football Record.
Carlton became the only unbeaten side of the season when it defeated an inaccurate Hawthorn at Princes Park. The Hawks kicked a disappointing 7.20 to go down by 40 points. - Football Record.
