Game Review
In our first ‘Sectional’ game, fourth-placed Collingwood turned the tables on the second side Carlton with a 10-point win. Although losing dealt a blow to the Blues' confidence, we still clung to second ladder position.Scores were level with twelve minutes left, the the home side scored two behinds, one rushed by a Carlton player. They then scored the sealer with a goal just minutes before the bell sounded.
This result continued a remarkable sequence of close matches between these avowed enemies; round 16, 1903 - Collingwood won by 2 points; Semi-Final 1903 - Collingwood by 4 points; round 5, 1904 - Carlton by 5 points, and round 12, 1904 - Carlton by 6 points.
