Game Review

Carlton had cleared Mocha Johnson to South only 2 weeks previously and his first clash with his old club would be memorable. It resulted in a thrilling win for his new team and Socks Cooper was reported for striking his former Captain. A bit more accuracy around goal may have got the Blues the four points.

'Soapy' Vallence's 8 goals was a mighty effort but the defeat left the Blues at a mediocre 6-5 and their finals chances hung in the balance.

At the end of this round Carlton were in 5th spot on the ladder with a percentage of 125.0.
