Jim Williamson played the solitary game for Carlton in 1932. In the very same game in 1932, another Carlton single-gamer in Frank Walshe would enjoy his only time in the Navy Blue sun. Williamson was born in Richmond, but recruited from Ararat.

The Recorder (Port Pirie) reported on the 15 January 1940 that former Carlton player the Rev. J. I. Williamson aged 31, is the new Presbyterian minister at Port Pirie's St. Andrew's Church. He said he played with Ararat and had one senior game for the Blues, but played more frequently for the seconds.
"I played only once for the first team. The club thought that was enough," said Mr. Williamson with typical humour and modesty."
Before becoming a minister Jim had worked for 9 years as a carpenter in Ararat.

"The Rev. James T. Williamson B.A., of St.Giles' Norwood, has been appointed as Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of South Australia for 1945." (Southern Argus 04 January 1945 p5)

Williamson wore the #16 guernsey.
