Challenge Cup Competition
Games: 12 - 15
Career: 1876

Also spelt Matheson.

Recruited from West Melbourne in 1876, the North Melbourne Advertiser said he was probably their best player.

1876 Played in the Carlton side that defeated Geelong 5-1 at the Arglye Street ground Geelong, 22 July.
(The Argus)

On the return train from Geelong,
"Matheson, of Carlton, wished to stop at Little River, and signified his intention to the porter, addressing him by name. That official, awe-struck at the idea of anyone one wanting to alight at the station, doubtless, murmured softly that "he had no key," and Matheson, was carried onto Werribee, whence he had to pad the hoof back again." (20km!) (Leader July 29 p10)

1876 Deficient in weight, but an active, energetic and fearless follower, always to be found in the vicinity of the leather, which sometimes he should kick sooner.
(The Footballer 1876. p34)

In 1892 T. "Baby" Mathieson played 3 games, a relation?
