Heatley Stand

In 1932 the Robert Heatley Stand at Princes Park was opened by Sir William Brunton, having cost 7000 pounds to build. It was officially opened on May 07, the season's first home game v South Melbourne

The stand has been built in honour of Robert Heatley, a former player (1883) and President of the Football Club. More of the life story of Robert Heatley is outlined here.

The Heatley Stand saw its final game for Carlton in the 2008 Pre-Season before demolition as part of a facelift for the grand old Princes Park. The game, a close win by Carlton over the Bulldogs in a pre-season fixture, may become equally as well known for its debut of boom recruit Chris Judd in Carlton colours.
