The Herald June 22 1900, reported that Lewis (Carlton) had been granted a permit to play with Montague.
There were two players at the Blues with the surname Lewis, Harry and Bill Lewis. Bill's last game was on September 8 of 1900.
As Harry's last game was the previous season in Round 11, 1899 it seems that he returned to his old club Montague which was based in the South Melbourne area.
Harry and Bill are the only Carlton players named Lewis to have played a senior game in the VFL/AFL 1897 - 2014
