Games: 3
Goals: 4
Career: 1887

Francis "Frank" Henry Lyon, nick-named " Anchor" was from South Ballarat.
Also spelt Lyons.

1887 April 09
Lyons was named in the 23 man Carlton squad to play Fitzroy in the Bulli Charity Match on the Brunswick Street Ground.

1887 April 30
F. Lyons scored a goal in the match against Brunswick on Princes Oval.

1887 May 28
Carlton played Adelaide on the MCG.
Lyon/s played in this game, then his name disappears from all senior and second twenty team squads. As he had scored goals in most of his matches one can only guess as to why his Carlton career was short lived. Perhaps he returned to Ballarat?

1887 CFC Annual Report, Lyons scored 4 goals for the season.

There is an image of Lyons which appears in the George Coulthard lithograph of 1884 of famous footballers.
This image is of J. Lyons, captain of South Ballarat. In a game against Geelong (Age Monday August 04 p7 1884) the match report mentions both J. Lyons and Frank Lyons for South Ballarat.
