Craig Clarke was placed onto the Blues Rookie list for the 2000 Season. He was recruited from Springvale where he played in their 1999 VFL premiership team. He had previously played football with Gembrook and Emerald. He had previously played reserve grade football with Hawthorn in 1999. Clarke returned back to Springvale for the 2001 season.
Clarke would also play for rival VFL club Frankston dolphins in 2003.
He did not manage to play a senior game for Carlton.
