Champions of Australia

From 1888 to 1914 an occasional contest between the premier of Victoria and South Australia was held to determine what at the time was known as the Championship of Australia. The Great War curtailed these competitions until a renewed competition now involving the other football playing states was resumed from 1968 to 1976.

Carlton was winner twice and runner up on four occasions.
