The Weekly Times May 10 (p19) ;
"The noted Williamstown player, Graf, made a League reputation on his first appearance for Carlton. Some people placed him first on either side."

Other than being recruited from Williamstown Juniors / Melbourne District, little else is known about Graf.
In 1917 Bert played on the wing for Williamstown Juniors along with his brother "Snowy" (Alf or Tom?) Graf.
Both A. Graf and B. Graf were named in the Carlton team that played Ballarat in Ballarat on Monday April 21 1919 One was a winger the other a rover. The Graff who roved in this game kicked four goals.

The Herald April 25 (p3) in a preview of Carlton's forthcoming 1919 season said;
" ...and the Graf brothers from Williamstown Juniors - wing and rover, repectively - have pleased the critics, the rover especially. He notched four goals on Saturday and four on Monday."

The Williamstown Chronicle June 02 p4 1934, an article reminiscing about the Williamstown Junior Football Club 1916 - 1920.
The final match of the year to decide the premiership against Footscray on the East Melbourne ground in 1919.
The field umpire Beaumont was struck by a spectator and a mellee developed.
"Peace was eventually resumed. Hardly had it got going when 'Baby' Graf was rendered hors de combat with a blow over the eye.'Town finished with 17 men, but 'Snowy' Graf kicked a phenomenal goal over his head out of the ruck.This did the damage and sealed the game for 'Town."

'Baby" Graf was Bert, a clever wing player. There is also a mention of Tom Graf. (Williamstown Chronicle July 14 1917 p3)
"Snowy" was Alf. Graf. (Williamstown Chronicle May 17 p3 1919)

Four years service and good conduct certificates were presented to 10 Williamstown players, among them, T. Graf, A. Graf, B. Graf. and J. Graf.
Alf Graf was presented with the ball, suitably inscribed with which he kicked the winning goal in the premiership. (Williamstown Chronicle November 29 1919p2)

"The four Graf brothers worked like Trojans - Tom and Jim (backs) and 'Snowy' and 'Baby' (wings) (Footscray Chronicle July 27 p3 1918)
