Abraham "Abe" Goding, also mentioned as Arthur Goding.

A new recruit in 1880 from Essendon. (1877-1879)

1880 ".... who is a rising and brilliant player, who did great service for his club last year, but has deserted them this season to join the Carltonites." (Weekly Times April 24)

1880 Goding named in Carlton side that played Hotham United at Princes Oval, on 8th. May.

Goding named in the Carlton Second Twenty/Reserves side that played the Essendon Second Twenty.

Footnote

Harry Goding was a South Melbourne player and then became a time keeper in 1886. He died at his residence in Moonee Ponds in 1924. (Australasian July 05 p22 1924)
Was he a relative of Abe?
The Argus (July 03 p5) said H. Goding played junior football in Carlton in the 1870's then transferred to Essendon then to South Melbourne. He was a timekeeper for South for 38 years.
