September 13
Reserves Second Semi Final
Carlton played Collingwood on the M.C.G.
A high standard match that was close throughout. Both back lines were on top and the centre lines and rucks broke even. The Blues levelled the score during the third term and then the lead changed every few minutes. Holding a one point lead at three quarter time, Carlton found themselves down by seven points deep into time on. Playing in front, the forwards had four shots at goal but only four points resulted, one a poster. Carlton's poor kicking lost them the game.

September 20

Carlton played Essendon on the M.C.G.
A strong, gusty wind marred the game.
A hard fought match where the Blues stuck to Essendon up until three quarter time, then the Dons kicked away. The opposition were faster, and also stronger in the ruck division. The forward lines of both teams performed badly in the cross wind.
