1951 Lightning Premiership

The VFL staged a 'Lightning Premiership' on the MCG on the 9th of May.

Between 11:30am and 5pm eleven games of 20 minutes each were played, and the excellent display of 'non-stop' football thrilled the 26,000 who attended. Proceeds totalling £2,000 were donated to the Women's Hospital.
