1934: Carlton v Wimmera

Wimmera vs Carlton

Carlton played a combined Wimmera team at Stawell in Central Park, August 11.
No League games as Victoria were playing South Australia. (Keith Shea, and Eric Huxtable were with the state team.)
The team arrived on Friday night and were given a civic reception by the Mayor, and then they visited the Great Western winery on Saturday morning.
The Combine played well and were in front at the last break. Vallence kicked 6 of his 8 goals in the final term to seal the game for the Blues.
Jack Cooper late in the final quarter, flew high for a mark and fell with his leg under him. He broke his ankle and was taken to the Stawell Hospital, he was well enough to return to Melbourne with the team on Sunday.
The players were given a picnic at the Grampians on Sunday as guests of the Stawell Football Club.
