William Claus Colson

Collison/Collinson/Colson.

Origins of Australian Football Volume 5 says it is William Claus Colson.

1895 Collinson played on the Blues forward line in a game against Williamstown at Williamstown, on August 31.

Is this possibly the same person?
He has been living in Zeehan Tasmania since 1896.

The Examiner (Launceston) February 20 1917 reported;
Zeehan - Monday
"A painfully sudden death occured to day, shortly before one o'clock, when William Claus Colson, a bricklayer, dropped dead at his residence Bagley Street.
Deceased, who was born at Brunswick Victoria was 57* years of age, and was a resident of Zeehan for 21 years.
He played football with the senior Carlton team before leaving Victoria, and cricket after his arrival, and he took an interest in local football.
He leaves a wife, five sons, and two daughters to mourn his loss."
.*Another report in the Zeehan & Dundas Herald 20 February, said he was 53 years of age, and that he was the "father" of the King football team,
The coroners' inquest (Zeehan Dundas Herald p2 Feb 21) said 15 Bailey Street.
There is a Bayley Street in Zeehan.

eHeritage Linc Tasmania, has William Claus Colson dying in 1915 aged 53 years and buried at the Zeehan Old General Cemetery.

A match betwwen Zeehan and Silver King clubs on August 06 a player named Coulson (a misprint?) was named in the King team.
Silver King was formed in 1892 at Brown's Silver King Hotel in Zeehan. The club was formed to represent the eastern end of Zeehan, it's ground was between the railway and Silver King Road.
There was also a South King Football club in Zeehan.
