Game Review
Princes Park was jumpin' (and the Social Club was rockin') when Fitzy's boys shattered the Sydney Swans with a twelve-goal first quarter, on the way to a 100 point win for the mighty Blues. Do you remember the TV showing Swans Full Back Rod Carter leaning against the goalpost as if to say "What can we do?"
Carlton half-forward, Wayne Johnston, knocked up getting kicks against the Swans and capped off an excellent game with five goals for the Blues. Johnston received maximum votes and joined team-mate Ken Hunter in second spot in the overall votes. The high flying Peter Bosustow who contributed a game high of six goals was also in the votes. - Inside Football Player of the Year.
Peter Bosustow was the star, kicking six goals, as Carlton thrashed South Melbourne by 102 points. It was a record winning margin for the Blues-Swans matches. - Football Record.
