Game Review
Rover Kevan Hamilton continued his impressive start to his career, kicking another four goals as the Blues beat North Melbourne by 8 points at Princes Park.North took the lead in the final term, but for the first time this season Carlton's teamwork came to the fore and the Blues regained the lead to win by 8 points. "The man who huffed and puffed the occasional whiffs of real football into the threatening last-term cloud was Carlton captain Ken Hands. His effective leadership - particularly in defence - gave Carlton an inner strength that has been sadly lacking."
Carlton coach Jim Francis;
"I was pleased with the way the team fought back in a difficult situation. A key factor in this was our ability to use the open spaces. Carlton is gradually settling down into systematic football, but I'm not satisfied yet. Our physical fitness is not all it should be and several players lacked a yard of pace."Best; Hands, V. English, Ellis, Hamilton, Chick, Webster.
