Game Review
After David Parkin kept Steven Oliver on the bench for the whole game, the promising young forward reacted by returning to Castlemaine for the remainder of the season. Meanwhile, Stephen Silvagni was simply unstoppable. He kicked 8 goals in a brilliant display at full-forward, seeing off three quality opponents in the process.Although Carlton had beaten Brisbane the previous week, this was a shock win - given that Hawthorn were the reigning Premiers, and that they had thrashed the Blues by 97 points in round 23 of the previous year. It was the first genuine sign that we were returning as a football power.
