Game Review
Sitting tenth on the ladder, Carlton faced Collingwood at Princes Park after a run of six successive losses. The Blues were at long odds, but as usual, lifted at the sight of the prison bars guernsey, and fought out a brave draw. The Blues rucks gave their little men first use of the ball, and in fact, only Collingwood's accurate kicking saved them from defeat.
Champion Carlton ruckman John Nicholls was back in top form and his strong ruck play was a contributing factor in the Blues good showing against Collingwood. - Football Record.
