Game ReviewTwo players from Northern Tasmania debuted in this round for Carlton in Craig Davis and Lance Styles.
The Blues suffered their third defeat in the last four matches, when the Hawks kicked their highest score against their opponents since 1970. The undermanned Blues fought out the game well by drawing to within two points late in the game, but the stronger playing Hawks drew away for their second succesive win to be placed now in fourth position. The score by the Hawks of 14.24.108 was only their sixth century against Carlton since joining the League in 1924. - Football Record.
This would be the last time that Carlton would play at Glenferrie Oval for premiership points, the following season the Hawks would make Princes Park their home ground.
