Game Review

Proving that at their best, the Blues could match any other side in the competition, this stirring victory over St Kilda at Princes Park marked the third occasion in 1966 that Carlton had beaten a side sitting either first or second on the ladder. Once again, it was the champion ruck duo of Nicholls and Gallagher that paved the way for the win, with Ricky McLean making his presence felt up forward. The top four after this round was Collingwood, Richmond, St Kilda and Geelong, with Essendon and Carlton next.

John Nicholls and Adrian Gallagher again formed a strong combination for Carlton as the Blues defeated St Kilda by 16 points at Princes Park. Darrel Baldock and Ian Stewart were good players for the Saints. - Football Record.
