Game Review

After two easy wins on the trot, Carlton was given a big reality check when Fitzroy dominated the second half of this Match of the Day at the Brunswick Street Oval. The Blues rallied in the last term to at least provide a contest, but the result by then was a foregone conclusion.

All the other matches in the round finished as predicted, leaving the Blues third on the ladder behind Collingwood and Fitzroy. Geelong were solid in fourth, six points clear of Essendon.

After this round, the postponed game of Round 2 was scheduled to be played. Please click here to find out the reasons for the postponement.
