R. C. Randall

Victorian Football Association
Career: 1884

1884 May 24
The Norwood Football Club visited Melbourne and played Carlton on the M.C.G.
Two of Norwood's players stayed on after the tour and played with the Blues.
One was a former Carlton player, and Norwood captain, A. E. 'Topsy' Waldron, and the other was B. Randall (also reported as R. Randall, a possible misprint?).
Both played for the Blues on June 14 1884 against Hotham on the M.C.G.
The two players were regulars in the Carlton side for the remainder of the 1884 season.

The Mount Gambier newspaper the Border Watch December 6 1884 mentions that Carlton footballer R. C. Randall ran in the Athletic Club Handicap on November 10. Randall won the race, but there was a problem, he had entered the race under using the false name of "R. Reddan." It was revealed that he had run in Sydney, Melbourne and had won a race in Adelaide. The Athletic Committee disqualified Randall.

The Sportsman April 29 1885 (p2) said Randall of Carlton has retired.
