McCracken

Challenge Cup Competition
Career: 1865 - 1866

This is the only information we have on this player.

However, possibly a very tenuous connection?
There was a Collier McCracken who went on to be the founder and first captain of the Essendon Football Club.
He was born in Moonee Ponds 02 March 1848 and educated at Scotch College and at Melbourne University.
Collier McCracken was a member of the McCracken brewing dynasty, he would have been 18 in 1866.
Could he be the same player? at 18 he may have been at the University, just down the road from the club.

1865 May 27
Carlton played the Melbourne Grammar School on the Myall Ground. This ground was opposite the Warehouseman's Cricket Ground, which is now known as the Albert Ground on St.Kilda Road.
McCracken was named in the 27 man Carlton team squad.
This is the first recorded Carlton match found so far, although there is anecdotal evidence that Carlton played games in earlier years.

1866 May 05
McCracken was named in the 25 man President's team vs the Vice President's team practice match.
