Mauro Guareschi was a half-back who played reserve grade football for Carlton in 1976, he wore a different guernsey number for each game he played in the reserves.

Guareschi was recruited from Maryborough Rovers, he won the senior's competition best and fairest Maryborough Castlemaine District Football League (MCDFL) in 1985 and later in 1991 playing for the Magpies. He later coached the senior team in the 1987 and 1988 seasons. He also won the club's U/17 best and fairest in 1973, he would later win their senior best and fairest awards in 1983, 1984, 1985 and 1989.

He was voted the Junior coach of the year for the East Ballarat U/15's in 2004 in the Ballarat FL.

He didn't play a senior game for Carlton.

Mauro Guareschi passed away in 2009.
