Breen debuted for Carlton against Melbourne at the M.C.G.

He was named in all of the Blues 22 teams this year.
Breen scored at least 6 goals.
(Not all match details were published.)

The Australasian October 03 (p22) 1885, in its football review said Breen of Carlton scored 18 goals. (This would have been against all teams)

1886 May 29
Breen played only one game for the year.
That was against South Melbourne and he was named among Carlton's best players.

1887 May 17
The Kyneton Observer (p2) mentions; "... Breen, the famous Carlton goal-kicker of the season before last, who was playing in his old position of goal-sneak."
He was playing for Keilor in a match against Kyneton.
