J. Kelly.

Could be Jim Kelly of the Southern club, who was a brother of Tom Kelly. The Referee newspaper in Sydney April 28 1925, in correspondence to the editor, mentions Jim in a letter about Tom Kelly. Tom played for the Fawkner club which was based at Fawkner Park South Yarra where the Southern club was also based.

Kelly selected in the 28 man Carlton squad to play N.S.W. at the M.C.G.

1889 July 27
Kelly selected in the Carlton squad of 23 to play Footscray at the South Melbourne C. G; Carlton won.

1889 CFC Annual Report, Kelly scored 2 Goals during the season.

1890 Mentioned amongst other players who recieved trophies and awards at the Carlton Football Club general meeting held Friday 28th March at the Hibernian Hall.

1892 June 4
Carlton Second Twenty played Essendon at the Friendly Societies Ground the report said that J. Kelly captained the Blues.

1892 CFC Annual Report, 1 goal in Reserves.

1893 July 22
Kelly was named captain of the 23 man Carlton Second Twenty squad that played Ascot Vale at Ascot Vale.
