David Lucas played reserve grade football for Carlton in 1993. Lucas was also used as a top-up player for Hawthorn Reserves in 1991 and 1992.

Lucas was originally recruited from Kew, but had also played for VAFA Club Old Collegians. He was playing at VFA Club Prahran when he was called up to play reserve grade football for the Blues.

He didn't play a senior game for Carlton.
