Game ReviewA huge relief as Carlton recorded their first win for 5 matches.
South stuck with the Blues throughout the first half but we worked clear in the 3rd quarter before accelerating away for a clear-cut victory. Alex Ruscuklic was proving a very handy goalkicker as his 4 majors advanced his total to 11 from 3 appearances with the Blues.
Amazingly, the only two players to wear single digit numbers were two players who made their senior debuts in 1974 in Graeme Whitnall and Greg Towns in (7 & 9).
Carlton returned to the winning list when they easily accounted for a smaller South Melbourne, although it was the Swans highest score against the Blues for five games. South were well with them until half way through the second term, but then the Blues took complete control to run out the easiest of winners, scoring their sixth century-plus in a row against South. - Football Record.
