Game Review

Scores were equal at quarter and half-time. Then, during the halftime interval the Carltonian barrackers said, knowingly, "Wait for our third quarter dash."

The third quarter dash, however, was Collingwood's, and the Magpies ran to a lead of thirteen points.

" I wish it was twelve or fourteen points; I don't like that number—13; it is unlucky," said a Collingwood committeeman, who one would not ordinarily consider superstitious. Gallantly Carlton tackled their task, and most people, when the bell sounded, considered that they had done remarkably well in making a draw of the game.

Many fans left Princes Park under the impression they had witnessed a draw as the scoreboard showed each team on 6-10.

The goal umpires later reduced the Blues score to 6-9.

At the end of this round Carlton were in 2nd spot on the ladder with a percentage of 129.4.
