Game Review

Carlton's forward line at last functioned as it should in this home game against Richmond. Blues coach Percy Bentley played George Ferry as a decoy full-forward, with Jack Howell drifting across from the pocket as the real forward target. Aided by Ken Hands' dominance in the ruck, the structure worked as planned. 'Chooka' Howell kicked 7 goals, while Carlton won easily and clung to a faint hope of making the finals.

Milestones

50 Games: Bruce Comben
Last Game: Ray Martini
Interesting Fact: Not only were these Ferry's only 2 goals for the year, they were the last for his whole career - he would move permanently to defence and not nail another major for over 100 more great games in Navy Blue!
