Game Review

Carlton would host a depleted Geelong side, missing a number of experienced players. The Cats were the better side early but the Blues slowly got on top, keeping the Cats goalless in the second quarter, while adding 4 goals themselves. A 6 goal to 2 third quarter and a 4 goal to 1 final quarter would see the Blues run out 9 goal winners.

Scott Camporeale provided plenty of midfield drive, with 32 penetrating possessions and 4 very good goals, in a best on ground performance. He was assisted by Heath Scotland, who had 29. Ryan Houlihan, Karl Norman and Matthew Lappin provided plenty of drive out of defence. Brendan Fevola was a constant target up forward, kicking 5 goals.
