Game Review

Carlton lost their opening game to Collingwood, but the margin could have been far worse if Collingwood were more accurate in front of goal. Carlton only had 40% of the scoring shots of Collingwood, yet only lost by 35 points.

Carlton Captain Rod McGregor stood down from this game after learning of the loss of his brother on active service. Carlton players wore black arm bands as a mark of respect.
Of the new players, Leo Tasker and Jim Willis (returning from active service) played well.

At the end of this round Carlton were in 8th spot on the ladder with a percentage of 46.2.
