Nick Clark was recruited from Launceston Grammar via Launceston, Tasmania.
He played U/19's for Carlton in 1976, and then later reserves grade football for Carlton between 1976 and 1978. In 1977, he was fifth in the Carlton Reserves goalkicking with 18 goals, in the same season he was awarded the Most Improved Player for the Carlton Reserves.
He did not manage a Senior game for Carlton.
