Harry Fuhrhop

Challenge Cup Competition
Career: 1872

Harry "Old Fly" Fuhrhop

.

The only connection with Carlton found so far is that H. Fuhrhop appears in the 1872 Carlton team list in Mark Pennings' book, "Origins of Australian Football" Vol. 1.
The book also says H. Fuhrhop was named North Melbourne captain in 1874
In October 1872 he was presented with a trophy as he has been North's captain for the previous 4 years. (Argus Oct 12 1872 p5)
The wikipedia site "North Melbourne Football Club honour roll" has listed H. Fuhrhop as captain of North from 1870 - 1877.

North's history site mentions Harry Fuhrhop as a long time captain in the club's early years.
North's Hall of Fame member No.8 (webring.com) This site says he was North's captain 1870-75, 1877, 1880

Carlton United Football Club had a player named Fuhrhop playing for them in July & September 1871, perhaps this is the Carlton connection?
