Robbins wore guernsey #32 in 3 games for Carlton after crossing from St Kilda and representing the Blues in 1925. At the Saints, he played from 1921 to 1922 and 1924, in this time he played 7 games and booted 6 goals.

After a return to Carlton for a single game in 1929, Robbins moved to Footscray for Seasons 1929 and 1930 in which he played a further 13 games.
