George Bakoulas played two reserves game for Carlton in 1997 in which he kicked five goals. He was used as a top-up player for the reserves.

Bakoulas was recruited from the TAC Cup side the Calder Cannons, his original junior club was Tullamarine.

Bakoulas also played as a top-up player for Collingwood reserves in 1998 after he was taken in the 1997 Rookie draft at pick 7 for the Magpies.

Bakoulas played with VFL club Port Melbourne in 1999 and then transferred to Coburg-Fitzroy for the 2000 season, where he played 15 games and booted 3 goals with the Lions.

In 2009, Bakoulas was the leading goalkicker for the Cohuna Kangas in the Central Murray League.

He did not play a Senior game for Carlton.
