Sometimes spelt Stuart, Stewart played 6 games for Carlton after debuting in Navy Blue in Season 1898.

1894 May 5
Opening round of the 1894 season.
Stewart made his debut for the Carlton F. C. in the match against Footscray at the Footscray ground.
Stewart/Stuart has been mentioned in newspaper reports in 8 games, and was named in all of the other team squads for this year that the Blueseum have details on.
So it is quite possible that he could have played in all of Carlton's 18 games in 1894.

1895
This year there is a lack of information.
Stewart's name appears in team squads, but quite a few of these are missing. He doesn't get a mention in the the game reports that Blueseum has, but this does not mean he didn't play.
Once again he could have played in all 18 games this year.

1896
Blueseum does not have one Carlton team squad for this year.
Stewart's name does not appear in the few available Carlton match reports.
Perhaps this refects the Blues standing in the football world then, with it's poor on field performances in recent years.
Or, it could have been due to the severe economic depression that effected Australia in the 1890's, and the newspapers were cutting costs.
But once again, Stewart could have played in all 18 games.

In three seasons, Stewart/Stuart could have played 54 games.
