Harrison is better remembered as a Tiger or Western Bulldog, retiring in season 2005 after being a solid contributor. But he began as a Blue, drafted at #103 from Tasmania in the 1992 draft. He would not make his debut until late 1995. Considering the strength of the Blues at that time, in the middle of a long winning streak, this was quite an achievement, though he was unable to have enough of an impact to last more than two games. He was a standout at the lower levels, winning the Reserves' best and fairest that year but ultimately was traded to Richmond for Justin Murphy.

He went on to play 74 games with Richmond from 1996-2000. He was traded to the Western Bulldogs in 2001, where he would become a regular member of their team, playing another 85 games until 2005. In total he played 161 games, which is an outstanding achievement in anyone's language.

He would perhaps best be remembered by Blues supporters for kicking the winning goal for the Tigers at Princes Park in Round 22, 1997, which would put Carlton out of the finals race.

A trusty flanker from Devonport who became more of a key position defender later in his career, Harrison was a left footer who would rarely take a shot on his right.

Harrison wore No.48 guernsey whilst playing reserves for the Blues in 1993.
