Game Review

Thursday May 09 was the official public holiday to commemorate the opening of the Commonwealth Parliament.
The VFL decided to hold a full premiership round which a lot of League players were not too happy about, some even failing to put in an appearance.
In less than 48 hours the players would be expected to front up again in Round 3 on Saturday.

The Blues would get crunched after failing to kick a goal all game, narrowly missing out on our lowest score of all time. And you wonder why we despise the Pies so much (it can't be because of their success over the last 50 years!)

Incidentally, this game was played on a Thursday, to commemorate the visit of the Duke of Cornwall, and the Duchess of York. The royal visitors had come to Melbourne after attending the Federation celebrations in Canberra, and a full round of VFL matches was scheduled in their honour.

At the end of this round Carlton were in 8th spot on the ladder with a percentage of 16.8.
