Game Review

B.Buckley (ankle) replaced by P.Barry in selected team. P.Barry replaced by K.Greenwood as 19th man.

At their previous start, Richmond had been slaughtered by 11 goals on their home ground by Footscray. In desperation, they made no fewer than eight changes to their team for this trip to Princes Park, and therefore were given little chance of knocking over a confident, settled Carlton side.

But right from the first bounce, the Tigers matched Carlton all over the ground, and their better accuracy in front of goal got them home by seven points over a bitterly-disappointing Blues combination.

Now two wins and percentage outside the four, Carlton's season was effectively over.
